![]() AlumniĬareer services is unreliable and naive. That said, the UK model of apprenticeship is so much more logical than our system. It’s third-year specialization programs are fantastic. Vanderbilt does a good job within these confines getting people clinical/practical experience, particularly in regards to public interest law and probono. The clinic programs are not easily accessible and nobody tells you to seek out as much practical experience as you can before graduation, which is turning out to be pretty important in this job market. It’s really fun (outside of the school part) and a lot of the faculty are people you’d want to be friends with in addition to being great professors. Job placement is best in the South and on the East Coast. The classes are small, you will either know everyone or be a weirdo. It is EXTREMELY social, and although it pulls from all over the country, very southern fratty. Alumniĭon’t be scared that Nashville is in the state of Tennessee, it’ s an awesome city. The smaller class sizes lend itself to a more collaborative environment. Definitely on the more conservative side in terms of class offerings. And perhaps it’s improved on its weaknesses (clinic offerings in particular) since I attended 15 years ago. Nashville is also a very nice place to spend your time - it’s not all country music.
